5 months - almost!

Hello Everyone!
Carter is growing so quickly, it is impossible to keep up with all of his changes! He will be 5 months on Sunday. He is about 27" and 17 lbs. I think I mentioned in an early post that he was rolling from his belly to his back. That was a short lived trick. Now he in constantly rolling from his back to his belly, but refuses to go belly to back. So basically we set him down to play, he rolls onto his belly, plays for about 3 minutes and then yells until we roll him back to his back. Repeat, repeat, repeat! :) He is also just starting to sit up on his own. I am guessing he will have it mastered in the next few weeks.

He really discovered his voice in the past two weeks. He can holler and talk with the best of them. Now when I drive him to daycare, he talks to me the entire way, I love it! He has also started reaching for what he wants - toys, sippy cups, people... It is hard to beat the feeling you get when you walk by him and he reaches out for you! It is bittersweet when I am holding him and he reaches out for Miss. Lindsey at daycare. He is doing really well in daycare, all the ladies love him. He has some friends, Lucas and Kevin, that he is dying to keep up with.

He also loves spending time with his cousins, Kelton and Teaghan. He thinks they are the coolest kids around. When they are together he just watches them with delight. Teaghan is very sweet with him she is always bringing him toys to play with. Kelton is excited for when Carter gets to do "big boy stuff" like him.

Be sure to check out the new halloween post, it is one the second page because of all the pictures!

Carter had cereal for the first time on the 18th of October. He really loved the first two bites, but hasn't swallowed a bite since!
Here Daddy, let me help you with that spoon.
Just put it in my mouth already!!
Now, that is what I am talking about, lets have some more!
Why have you two been holding out on me? This cereal is delicious!

Ok, two bites is enough. The novelty has worn off.
happy halloween everyone! Grandma Joan was making him laugh and I was taking the pictures.

Hello From Montana!

Hello All! Carter and I are up in Montana for a few days. Josh was supposed to go out of town for work Tuesday through Saturday. I didn't really like the idea of beinging home alone with Carter again this week, so we decided Carter and I would pack up and head north. Carter and I were about 2 hours out of Butte when Josh found out he was actually heading home until Thursday. I offered to turn around, but he said no. I think he knew that I was going a little stir crazy at home and he also liked the idea of a night or two with out a whining wife and baby. :)

We are having a lot of fun up here. Wednesday we hung out with Uncle Bryan all day and then Grandma Betty cooked us a delicous dinner and we sat out on her patio and visited. Thursday we met Grandma Betty, Theresa, Joyce and Grandma Joan for lunch at the Uptown. It was delicous. Last night all the men had golf league so all the ladies, Cael and Jace came over to see Carter. We had a good time visiting with everyone. Today Grandpa Frank took the afternoon off to play with Carter, right now they are hanging out on the back deck. And then tonight we are meeting up with my friends from high school, Ashley, Lisa and Tressa for dinner. Tomorrow we head home.

Dr Sigg says "well, he is a big boy"

We just had Carter's two month check up with Dr. Sigg.  I know I don't have a lot of experience in the pediatrician field, but I am convinced he is the best doctor ever.  (thanks for the referral Beth and Kate) :)   Carter is doing well - hitting all of the milestones and growing at a good rate.  He now weighs 12 lbs 3 oz and is 23 1/2 inches long.  He is around the 80 - 85th percentile for both categories.

Two nurses came into give him his 5 immunizations.  Carter was laying on the table smiling and talking to them as they were telling me what was going to happen.  It really looked like he was flirting with them.  Just when he thought he won them over they jabbed him with needles.  Fortunately, they were really good and the whole ordeal was over in less than 5 seconds.  He had a little milk and some tylenol and is now sleeping peacefully.

From Cater's point of view things must be really confusing - two beautiful ladies in nurses uniforms walk in, take him away from his mom and lay him on a table.   He starts talking and cooing at them and they talk and coo back.  He thinks he has both of them eating out of the palm of his hand and then BAM, they jab him with needles.  If that isn't enough to scare him away from women, I don't know what is! :)

Our little guy is now two months old!!

Can you believe he is already two months old?  Saturday was the big day, we marked the occasion by having our first "guys night in."   Josh and Carter stayed home and I went to my friend Kat's wedding shower and part of the bachelorette party.   Josh enjoyed having some one on one time with his little buddy and I enjoyed a night with the girls.  Here are some "two month" pictures - enjoy.

It has been awhile - this will be a long one!

I can't believe Carter is almost two months old!  The time has flown.  Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, we were in Montana for awhile and then I was sucked into facebook.  If you haven't started using it yet - don't.  It is like a drug!   Here is what we have been up to:

On the fourth of July we took a ride up to Kamas.  Grandma Lana was the only one home, so we pick
ed her up and
 head to the mountains
 for a drive and quick
hike.  It ended up being very qui
ck and we learned that the m
osquito filled outdoors and a 3 week old don't mix.  What we we thinking, more specifically - what was Josh thinking??  :)  The area was beautiful and provided a few photo ops.

Also, in the Month of July.  Carter's aunt Mardee flew in from Denver to meet him.  She stayed with us so she was able to spend a bunch of time spoiling him.

I think that brings us to our trip to Montana.  We arrived on Friday morning about 1:30 am.  Carter was a trooper, he slept most of the way and was good when he was awake.  We had planned on stopping at the "Welcome to Montana" sign and take a picture, but it was way to dark by the time we passed into Montana- maybe next time.  Friday afternoon and
evening were spent at Evel Kneivel days.  Josh,  Grandpa Frank, Carter and I watched the
freestyle motorcross in the afternoon and then the whole family went to the evening performance.

Josh was ecstatic when he saw that Mike Metzger (or something like that), the "godfather" of freestyle was performing.  After the show we got Mike's autograph and he
was nice enough to take a picture with Carter.  He was really amazing.

On Saturday we headed to Missoula for Michelle and Scott's wedding.  It was a gorgeous day and the wedding and reception turned out beautifully.   Carter was able to meet his last uncle (Bryan) and a ton of other great aunts and uncles and cousins.  I am pretty sure he was not put down the entire weekend.  Unfortunately, I forgot to get a picture of the bride and groom with Carter - so here is a picture of them.  Aren't they perfect for each other??

Sunday, we had to say good bye to Josh, as he had to go back to work.  Carter and I
headed up to Big Sky Lake with my Mom, Dad, Eric, Aimee, Kelton and Teaghan.  Thanks for letting us stay Peggy, Charlie, Mary and Doug - we had a great time.  We really enjoyed hanging out with our immediate family and some extended family that we don't get to see to often.  Once again Carter didn't get put down all weekend, but Grandma Joan and Grandpa Frank did share on occasion.

On Friday, Joan, Kelsie, Aimee, Kelton, Teaghan and Carter all piled into my Dad's truck and headed out to visit Grandma Jean and Grandpa Jack.  The three carseats fit perfectly in the backseat and the three adults sat up front.  Thanks for buying a six sea
t
er Dad.  Eric and Frank were golfing, so they didn't make trip out to Stevensville.  The kids were really good.  Kelton kept us entertained the entire way there and home.   It was nice to get to visit with Grandma and Grandpa and take some pictures.

Back in Butte more family came to visit - Grandma Betty, Joyce, Patty and
several others.  Sunday night Carter attended his first birthday party.  Jace Stenson  turned 5!   I didn't get a picture of the birthday boy - sorry!  Finally on Monday it was time for Carter and I to head home.  We were sorry to go, but excited to see Josh.   Josh meet my Dad in Idaho Falls and brought us home.

I am not really great at using this program yet, so sorry for the formatting issues.  Also, I know I have have grammar issues, but I don't have time to go back and fix them.

Hello All,
We have had a busy couple of weeks.  Two fridays ago we started the weekend with a trip to the Draper Day's rodeo with our friends Brandee, Joey (wild thing - if you remember from our wedding) and their daughter Chaselynn.   Kelton was with us and he and Chaselynn had a great time watching the horses and eating snowcones.  At one point a bull jumped the fence directly across from us.  Luckily, he had already be lassoed once so he didn't run up into the bleachers.  After that scary situations, it took all of my will power not to pack up Carter and Kelton and tell Josh we would meet him in the car!  I was a nervous wreck the rest of the time!  Carter loved the rodeo - or maybe it was the fact that Brandee cuddled him the entire time.

Saturday we watched Eric and Aimee compete in their triathlon.  They did great and it was fun to watch.  Like I said on a previous post, Kelton kept us updated on Carter's sleeping situation then entire way up there.

I am sure we had some exciting "firsts" during the week, but I cannot remember them.   Josh had to work out of town for a few days last week so Lana stayed with us.  Carter was spoiled - I am pretty sure she only put him down twice.  Which was great until she left and Carter still thought he needed to be cuddled all day.  :)

Friday, my friend Kendra and her boyfriend Tracey were in town for the George Strait concert.  Carter and I met them for lunch.  It was great to catch up with the two of them and they think Carter is very cute.  Friday night, Josh and I went to the George Strait concert and Lana babysat.  George is amazingly handsome and a pretty great singer as well.   I was pretty nervous about leaving the little guy.  I am sure Lana thinks I am crazy, because I was giving her instructions on how to care for him.  She has been a Mom for 29 years and I have been one for 5 weeks, yet I am instructing her.  I know it isn't logical but I couldn't help myself.  We only called and checked in once (about 99 times fewer than I wanted to!).   Everything went well and I am pretty sure Carter didn't even know we were gone.

Josh's sister Mardee flew in from Denver on Saturday.  We had a good time, she spoiled Carter and constantly had him laughing.  During her stay we picnicked at the park, bbq'd and played games.  Mardee stayed with us, so she had lots of alone time with Carter.

That brings us to today!  Carter and I are busy preparing for our trip to Montana for Michelle's wedding.  We will be leaving Thursday night and Carter and I are staying through August 2nd.  Josh has to come back to SLC on Sunday - someone has to pay the bills around this place.  :)  Sorry, there will not be any pictures for this post, the little one just woke up!!  Have  a great day.
